When it
comes to homosexuals there are many beliefs as to how they came to be, they
were sexually abused as a child, the environment they grew up in was lacking a strong
male/female parental figure or even that there is something wrong with their
brains, but never is it just that they were born that way.
The reason
for that is because we know that God doesn’t make mistakes, he is an artist and
all his works are masterpieces, so if they were in fact born that way it must
mean that’s how He wanted them to be, and there is no way that the hateful
and/or ignorant people who condemn them want to hear and/or believe that.
We all know
it’s not how we are made that makes us evil, but rather what we do with the
free will He has blessed us with that determines the kind of person we are,
whether that be a person who lives their life for the lord, or a person who
lives their life for the sin.
The truth
is that they are born that way, they are truly product of the almighty himself,
and whether you want to believe it or not there is a reason why he made them
the way he did.
In the beginning
God wanted his people to be fruitful and multiply, to populate the Earth, but
now considering the cesspool our evil ways have created out of this planet, why
would he want any more of us running around making things worse.
Take for example
all the children in this world that are without love, who have no idea what a heartfelt
embrace feels like, who spend all their time wondering why and how come, their
lives are full of emptiness and uncertainty.
These
children were brought into this world by heterosexual couples who could not, or
choose not, to properly provide for them, to take care of them and to be responsible
for their well-being and overall welfare.
That is
where homosexuals come into play, because who better to care for these children
than couples who can’t have kids of their own, but have the desire and
compassion to provide for them and to love them the way they deserve to be
loved.
Do you
really believe that these children would mind if they were accepted into a
family with two loving and caring parents who want nothing but the best for
that child and those two parents just happen to be of the same sex?
I know some
of you more combative Christians, who use the bible as a weapon, would say that
the bible says gays are bad, an abomination even, and the sole creation of the
devil himself.
With that
said, I would remind you that God's plan for us evolves to meet his current needs/desires and that he makes things happen for a
reason, like a conductor leading the orchestra, he does things that we may not
agree with and/or completely understand but ultimately it is his will.
The bible
is not the end, it is only the first book in a series, there is more to come
and to think otherwise would be utterly foolish and blatant disrespect to the
lord himself.
Some of you
may also say that the bible, which is God inspired and man delivered, says
differently, but I truly feel as if this piece is God inspired, I feel that he
lead me to deliver this message to the people.
This
message is not coming from a gay man, I am a straight man who is just trying to
keep God’s message of love alive and well.
Feel for me
as you will, but just remember hate is hate, and that is not what God is about
and/or wants for his people.
While I disagree with some of your points, I agree with the gist of the article.
ReplyDeleteAs a straight, very condervative Catholic, my personal belief is that I couldn't care less what two consenting adults do in their own home. I respect a person for what he or she brings to the Table of Life rather than what he or she does with his or her genitals. I know plenty of gay people and I liked them before I knew they were gay, why would I dislike them because I founf out otherwise?
One point of disagreement that I want to bring up is that "God evolves". God himself said that He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He loves all equally and unconditionally and wishes The Kingdom of Heaven for each of His children - gay or straight.

DeleteA person being gay does not make them a bad person, it's what is in their hearts that does.
As far as the disagreement, that was my fault, I meant to say that God's plan for us evolves, not God himself. I have corrected it, and thanks for bringing that to my attention.

DeleteThe church is in crisis this is for sure. They have to figure out (and quick) how to preach grace and love and still keep gay people without rights? That's proving to be a sticky issue, not to mention a flawed one. It's either one or the other. you love and accept them as they are, or you don't. I can't stand it when christians talk about it in theory but then don't land on one side or the other in reality. Which is it? Thoughtful post.

DeleteThe bottom line is that we need to be like God and love and accept them for who they are, and how He made them, and not try to change them and/or deny them rights because we don't endorse their lifestyle and/or fear who they are because they are different from us.

If we did everything the Bible, and I use this loosely as it's really the Old Testament that is usually quoted, we would still be stoning people for committing adultery, not eating the best food ever created (BACON), keeping women separate during certain times of the month, etc.

You are absolutely right, there are many tradition/rules that we so conveniently avoid (mostly in the Old Testament as you noted) due to the uncomfortable situations they would put us in and/or how they would make our lives less enjoyable, and others that we hold close and whip out every time a we want to condemn someone and/or make them feel bad about who they are as a person, totally not what being a Christian is all about.

ReplyDeleteEven though modern science hasnt yet proven that one's sexual orientation is developed while in the womb in the fetus state, each decade scientists and doctors have been Ruling Out those old outdated theories so it's also a matter of ? elimination. We know for a fact that it's not due to an absent nor dominant parent no one's environment nor from a mental disease. All of those old stereotypes and theories have been disproven but with each decade comes more and more case studies and interviews accumulated from gay people who the majority of which knew they were gay at a very very young age, before they even knew what the name gay meant, they just knew as Straight people just knew from an early age that they were Straight.
I point out to people that "WHY would anyone, anyone choose to be someone that is hated and dispised and bullied and beaten up and in the past had been lynched and burned at the stake. WHY would anyone even choose to be that way? They DONT choose to be gay, I feel they are Born That Way" and I do think that is the direction that modern science is going in
a good topic for you to post is ""If there were a blood test to see if one's unborn fetus is gay orientated would religious women take that test, like Hispanic Catholics and if found their child will be gay would they justify what was once called The Back Alley Abortions done illegally and private without a paper trail. arrrrggghhh, I've forgotten how I even got to this post/website :) :)
You know what my friend, you do bring up a very good point. What would happen if there was a way to tell if a person was gay or not while they were still in the womb? How would people handle that and how many people would care. I think I may write about this, at least to some extent.

ReplyDeleteI do agree, however, that God is not about hate. And, I do agree that everything that happens is because God wills it, and He doesn't make mistakes. Therefore, gay people are not some spawn of Satan. They are here because God made them that way and put them here. He is perfect.
Here's where I differ. I think we have a choice. That's the free will you talk about. They may not have chosen to be gay; they are choosing to act on it. I don't know why God made some people gay anymore than I know why He made some people straight or some people black or some people liars, murders, thieves, child abusers. It's all part of His plan.

We have free will. Just because you have a tendency towards something doesn't mean you have to act on it. If I have a tendency towards violence doesn't mean I have to go around beating people up. I can choose to do that, but I don't have to. We all have different struggles.
Do I think God would intentionally create people so they can be miserable? Absolutely not. Do I think someone would intentionally choose something to make them despised among men? No. And, my heart goes out to those who have faced persecution. Jesus said he who is without sin, let him cast the first stone. As I said, we all have our struggles.
I do not understand why God does what He does. If I did, I would be God and I'm not. But whatever trials we face are to make us more like Him. Everyone's struggle is different.
Net/net: As a Christian, I don't hate gay people. That wouldn't be very Christian, would it? I do think we have a choice, and I am not going to hate someone for a choice they make. I might not agree with it. I hope people don't hate me for the choices I make.
There are gay Christians and I believe some people who are gay on earth will be in heaven. We shouldn't beat them down or chastise them. God will deal with each individual as He sees fit, gay and straight. He will judge the heart. Creating hell on earth for people is not in my job description as a Christian.
My friend why would I stone you, I am not without sin, and nevertheless I would never do that, especially over something as trivial as a difference of opinion?
DeleteWe both agree that our God, a perfect God, created them how they are, and not that it was a choice they made sometime during their lives.
Now where we disagree, you believe it's wrong, a sin if you will, and I don't, not at all. I also really believe that God doesn't think it is either, because otherwise why would He create them the way he did, is his image?
I can't believe that He would create them that way, then when they act on it condemn them to eternal damnation, that just doesn't make sense and not something a loving God would do.
